Liverpool Local Environmental Plan

Council is currently reviewing the Liverpool Local Environmental Plan 2008, which is the local planning document applying to the majority of the Liverpool Local Government Area. We want to hear your ideas on how to manage the growth of our great city!

Overview

As part of Council’s 100 Day Plan, Council is reviewing the Liverpool Local Environmental Plan 2008 and will establish a new Liverpool Local Environmental Plan. This review also addresses Council’s commitment to reduce the maximum height of buildings to 12m in suburban areas.

We have heard that protecting local character, providing a variety of housing options, creating local jobs and protecting the environment are important to our community.

Several draft changes to local planning rules are being investigated to address these priorities. This is your chance to tell us what you think about these draft changes before Council proceeds with the process to formally make these changes.

Have Your Say

The Community Engagement survey is now closed.

What happens next?

Feedback received will be reported to Council, informing the progression of the Liverpool LEP Review. A Planning Proposal (legislative document to create a new LEP) will be prepared in 2023, and this will be subject to further community consultation, anticipated at the end of 2023.
