Join Reverse Garbage, the experts in creative reuse for Winter Blast where creativity meets winter wonderland magic! Try your hand at building an Igloo, making a snowflake or creating your very own Snowy City with our fun and friendly team of sustainability educators. All the materials have been saved from landfill and challenge kids to get creative with reuse.

Winter Blast 2024 will commence at 4PM and conclude at 10PM daily from Friday 12th – Sunday 14th July 2024.

Is the Winter Blast 2024 event free entry?

Yes, entry to this event is completely free. However, some activities including indoor programs and ice-skating rink will be at a ticketed cost.

What time can I get there for the ice-rink?

For the ice-skating rink you will need to arrive 30 minutes prior to your allocated session time. However, the event itself you can arrive anytime to enjoy the Winter Blast 2024 event on Friday 12th July – Sunday 14th July.

Is there parking? / How do I get there? 

There is limited parking at Casula Powerhouse and Arts Centre and it is recommended to utilise public transport to get to Winter Blast 2024!

TRAIN
If you would like to drive, we would recommend that you park at Edmonson Park or Glenfield train stations and catch the train to drop you off right at the event!

Casula Powerhouse has it's very own train station. Disembark at Casula Station on the T2 Inner West & South Line or T5 Cumberland - first stop after Liverpool (from Sydney) or Glenfield (from Campbelltown). www.131500.info

Please note the T2 Airport line is different from the T2 Inner West/South - if coming from City Circle via airport, please change at Glenfield.

BICYCLE

We have bicycle racks right at the Casula Powerhouse front door. Up to 6 spots available here plus there are more near the train station.

UBER

Ubers will pick-up and drop off at Casula Powerhouse. Please warn the driver that the entry road is long (2km) and they need to head to the very end of the road. Past the Casula playgrounds.

ACCESS

Accessibility parking spots are available at Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre and drop-off and pick-up areas are available please follow the directions of Traffic Controllers.

Visitors with restricted mobility can enjoy all public areas of Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre. Guide and Hearing Dogs are welcome.

CAR 

Limited parking spots are available at Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre, we recommend using public transport and disembark at Casula Station.

  • From Parramatta or Campbelltown way (without tolls)

Take the Hume Highway going towards Liverpool. Follow it all the way into Terminus Street, Liverpool and turn right into Pirie Street. Follow the signs to the Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre, Shepard Street Entrance.

  • From the M5/City (with tolls)

Take the M5 to Liverpool. Exit at Moorebank Avenue and drive towards Liverpool turning left at Newbridge Road. Turn left into Speed Street and follow the signs to Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre.

Will I be searched upon entry?

For safety reasons, Council staff, event crew and security reserve the right to check your bags upon entry. Please check our ‘prohibited items’ list below to ensure you are aware of what not to bring to the event.

Can we bring our own food?

You sure can, but why would you? There will be plenty of tasty and affordable food options that cater for every dietary requirement. Food items will be priced to suit a family-friendly budget.

Does this event have alcohol?
The event will be licensed, and a bar will be available to purchase alcoholic beverages. Bringing your own alcohol is not permitted.

Can I smoke at this event?

Smoking, including e-cigarettes, is not permitted at this event.

Can I bring an esky/BBQ/shade structures?

For safety reasons, you are unable to bring your own esky/barbecue or shade structures.

Any stallholders bringing a shade structure must have approval from Events staff prior to bringing it on site.

What items are prohibited?

Items prohibited at the event include:

  • Alcohol and illicit substances of any kind;
  • Glass bottles, glassware or breakable containers;
  • Drones or any other remote-controlled devices;
  • Bicycles, scooters, skateboards or skates;
  • Animals (excluding service animals);
  • Eskies, barbecues or shade structures;
  • Weapons of any kind, including any item that can be used as a projectile;
  • Knives or scissors;
  • Fireworks, sparklers or flares;
  • Laser pointers;
  • Cameras and recording devices for commercial use (unless prior approve by Council; and
  • Other items deemed by security, police or event coordinators as having potential to cause injury or public nuisance.

Can I bring my pet?

Dogs are allowed to be outdoors at the event so long as they are kept on a leash and are well behaved. Only service dogs will be granted permission indoors.

Council will not tolerate any aggressive behaviour or excessive barking and owners must clean up after their pets. If this is not adhered to, Council staff reserve the right to remove dogs from the event site at any time.

We are expecting many young families at this event and any pets attending must be accustomed to children.

Can I take photos/film at the event?

Photos can be taken for personal use. We encourage attendees to post photos to social media and tag @LiverpoolCityCouncil and use the hashtag #lovelivo.

Professional photography (including the use of tripods for safety reasons) will not be permitted without prior consent from Liverpool City Council’s Communications Team.

Are there ATMs on site?

ATM’s will not be available on site.

I am a local resident – how will this affect me?

There are no road closures in place for this event, however please expect heightened pedestrian and vehicle activity at Casula Station and surrounds.

What happens if it rains? 

The show must go on! If weather conditions become extreme and pose risk to attendees, performers and crew, the event may be cancelled. Notification will be provided via Council’s social media channels.

Media requests should be directed to our Communications team to receive accreditation to photograph, film or run interviews at the event – communications@liverpool.nsw.gov.au
